T-minus 13 hours....

Ah! Its really happening! I am going to Ukraine. Goodness, I can’t believe this is real life. I still have so much to do though: I have to pack, take out money, set up my queue, buy supplies, pay my bills, and get some school stuff sorted out. That’s okay though… chaos now, celebration later. I’m not bringing my computer and I may not have access to internet for the next seventeen days but in the meantime I will be taking a ton of photos and creating a video diary of my time there that I will show you guys once I get back! Wish me luck :)

I’ve only been in Washington less than a year and already I find myself growing restless and want to see what else is out there. Maybe I suffer from grass is greener on the other side syndrome. It’s not that I don’t love it here, in fact I consider this place home. I just want to experience something different…. something more, I guess.

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you- it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you… Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” —

word to the wise...

when it comes to looking for a new job, craigslist isn’t the best way to go about it (too many freaks.)

I’m quite pleased with myself. I went into a local art gallery and I was looking at the artist’s work and I noticed one in particular. I asked if all of his paintings were from around the Seattle area and he said that most were but he had some that he did while abroad. I then mentioned that one of his paintings looked like the Dover beach with its white cliffs; he looked impressed and said that it was actually one of the beaches right around there. Yeah… what can I say.
